I first learned about Mermaid Mafia Swimwear through my good friend and fellow IFBB bikini pro, Brooke Mora (who just so happens to be pictured above to the far right). She had competed in the Europa Dallas show in a brilliant fuchsia bikini and wowed the crowd and obviously the judges!
She had taken a bit of a risk competing in this suit, because the trend toward bling and gaudy was not definitive of this choice. With this suit, she brought elegance, class, and couture to the stage.
Owner and designer Alexandra Archer, is no stranger to the stage herself. She has quickly risen in the ranks as an NPC competitor, and is knocking at the pro status door. Founded in 2010, Mermaid Mafia has become the go-to line for top bikini competitors and fashionistas as well. The bold colors and contemporary prints coupled with the exquisite detailing of crystals and trims makes this swimwear line, made in the USA, stand out against its competition.
After seeing her suits pop up in photo shoots, on fashion sites, and at fitness shows nationwide, I felt compelled to see if they worked with my body as well. I have a big shoot coming up with internationally published photographer George Kontaxis, and I want the best styling. After speaking with Ali, who is nothing short of a doll, Mermaid Mafia was kind enough to provide me with half a dozen suits for this shoot! Oh, the perks of being a pro! I just received a couriered box, which was perfectly packaged and contained such beautiful choices for my skin color and personal style. I’m so excited to wear them! I’ll definitely update you all with photos after the shoot!
More than just ready-to-wear, Mermaid Mafia can create custom swimwear to your specifications. So if you need more support, or prefer a certain style, let them help you design the perfect fit. They also carry a line of accessories and men’s board shorts.
