Some words about SUMMER'S BLOG

I love peanut butter, avocado and oatmeal. Not together of course, but nearly any recipe that calls for these ingredients I'll probably enjoy. I have the misfortune of living with some food sensitivities but the extreme fortune of knowing what those sensitivities are - gluten (only mild, thank goodness), nightshades, lactose, and refined sugar. I'm not a formally trained chef, but I love cooking (and eating!) delicious, guilt-free food. I'm a fitness model, certified nutrition coach, trainer and an IFBB pro bikini athlete... and I eat 6 times a day. When I'm not in the kitchen preparing something extraordinary, I'm - in the gym, rushing off to an audition, at a photo shoot, studying nutrition, or planning a vacation. Hope you enjoy my site! Welcome to my blog

I believe everything in life happens, not necessarily for a reason but, at the right timing. Right doesn’t always mean right for you, though. I’ve been trying to get this blog set up for nearly a year.  I had a fabulous designer working on another site for me, got to the final stretch and my macbook’s memory became full. The thing that’s comical is that it was full because I was 1000′s of miles away from the US…the Mac store…and my designer, seeing the world, taking and uploading hundreds of pictures on a daily basis and was yearning to share these experiences with all of you!

Well the place was New Delhi, India and would be there for nearly 5 months, so I had to resort to buying an external hard drive (the thought of having to move all of my files off the safe motherboard into a foreign object, potentially being lost in space somewhere, petrified me).  Upon browsing, I wanted to buy a Seagate drive (being that due to my mommy’s 30+ year contribution and reciprocal compensation, Seagate was, in part, responsible for my life’s path that brought me to India in the first place) but the gentleman at the gadget store swayed me into buying my laptop’s Mac counterpart (and the obvious up-sell).

Anyhow, despite the price and the local customer service that came with the device, the darn thing stopped working at about the 4th backup. The rep at the gadget store revealed to me (at what would’ve been my horror), that he would need to restart the hard drive which would delete all saved files! What?! That’s the reason I dropped 12,000 rupees for the drive in the first place! For protection!! Good thing miss smarty pants me (more like miss pessimist) did the backups but didn’t fully move my files off the computer’s drive!

So fast-forward a few months, and here we are. I’ve returned from India about a month ago (the reason I’ll share with you later). I haven’t taken the Mac drive in to get it looked at, nor have I moved the thousands more iphone photos from my many travels on to a safe space, but I do have this good ol’ blog up and running! Thank you for stopping by! I have a lot of catching up to do and a lot to share. So stay tuned for my travel tips, recipe inspirations, photos, rants, raves, and a whole lot more!

*Have you ever been on a trip and forgot something essential? Isn’t it the worst!
